Amur Leopard

Amur Leopard

Leopards exists not only in Africa, but also in Russian Far East; the endangered Amur Leopards live in the temperate forest of this region. These leopard species are solitary but can pair with female to bring up their young.

They are nimble-footed but fast and strong. They live up to 15 years in the wild and 20 years in captivity. They can run up to 37 miles (about 60 kilometers) per hour. This specie is critically endangered due to poaching, loss of habitat (deforestation) and low level of prey population in their natural habitat. They have to compete with other cats, like tigers, and human for habitat and prey. For more information, please visit WWF site (https://goo.gl/DravLu)
